AW 2010-11

The blackboard collection. Joseph Beuys has always played a central role in the influence of our collections, and blackboards and chalk were integral in his works. We had a print of a blackboard marked up with all sorts of chalk musings, scribbles and scrawls. Just before the show, I took a piece of chalk and drew pinstripes on some of the black tailored wool jackets and trousers; the same as I did for my graduation collection at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
